I saw my line move to the side,
and I set the hook. I was only
using 8lb test so I couldn't
control the fish too much. I just
kept enough pressure to keep
the hook in. Since I was fishing
from the bank, I had to walk
down the bank as the fish
pulled sideways more and more.
The fish swam into some grassy
cover and wrapped itself around
a tree, and when it swam back
out the tree it was wrapped
around actually broke. At this
point my heart was pounding,
and all I hoped for was that the
fish stayed down and no jump. I
ended up fighting the fish for a
good 6 minutes until it wore
itself out, and i reached down a
lipped the biggest fish of my
life. I let out a yell that could
be heard for miles!! |
